Throughout the summer of 2024 I was lucky enough to have an internship at a local tampa bay company. This company is GarrisonPro a remote IT company that helps small businesses in the area with cybersecurity and IT support. Throughout my time there I learned a lot of skills from technical skills like writing powershell scripts and computer troubleshooting to people skills like managing multiple phone lines and gently explaining why something doesn't work. While most of my work was done from a desk with a phone and a computer I also got sent out in person to do physical troubleshooting. Throughout the internship I was able to experience a large variety of things from simple windows updates and replacing bad keyboards to a full on DDOS attack that brought a clients network down for hours. Throughout this internship I was able to learn and grow so much into my cybersecurity career and have learned countless skills that will help me in the future.
